Katrin graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1991 with a bachelor degree in physical therapy. She resumed her education in 2000, completing her doctorate in physical therapy in 2005. Her main focus is burns and wound care. She completed her specialty certification in Wound Management in 2006 and completed her re-certification in the spring of 2017. She is currently a Level I MFR practitioner.

Katrin was born in the Faroe Islands, at 62 degrees latitude north of Great Britain. She has also lived in Iceland, Florida, Germany, and New Mexico.  She currently makes her home in Boise, Idaho, with her husband and son. Her daughter, Annika, attends BSU and works part time at the clinic.

Danielle Jarvis, PT, MPT, CLS

Danielle Earned her masters degree in physical therapy in 1994. She has joined us full time as of November. She is a level II MFR (myofascial release) practitioner and is certified as a Certified Lymphedema Specialist (CLS).

Danielle lives in Boise with her husband and 3 sons. She is in the clinic Monday through Thursday and sees between 4 and 6 patients each day.
 

Valerie Leavitt, PTA, LMT

Valerie joined us in August of 2014, having graduated with her PTA degree from Carrington that May.  Valerie has a strong background in manual therapy. She practiced as a licensed massage therapist for 10 years in Colorado and Idaho. Valerie’ is a level II MFR practitioner whose Myofascial Release training includes MFR I, MFR II, Unwinding, and the fascial pelvis. Her goal is to achieve Expert Practitioner status through the John F. Barnes method.

Valerie lives in Boise with her boyfriend.  Her kids are grown and live in Colorado and Idaho. Valerie has 6 grandchildren, ranging in age from infant to 11 years old. She is an active outdoors woman and can often be seen singing and dancing around the clinic. She works Wednesdays and Fridays and sees up to 5 patients each day.
 

Shane Johnson, PTA, LMT
Shane Johnson, PTA, LMT

Shane has been with us since early 2013.  He graduated from Penn Valley Community College, Kansas City, Missouri, with an Associates of Science in the Physical Therapist Assistant program. He also holds a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and a Master of Arts in Teaching.

Shane lives with his wife and two children in Nampa, Idaho.  He teaches middle school science during the regular school year, while moonlighting with us in the evenings.  In the summer, he works full time at our facility. He was trained in MFR by a local expert prior to attending the John Barnes Courses. During the school year, Shane can be found at the clinic on Monday and Wednesday evenings. He sees up to 3 patients a day.

 

 

Angela Hale, PTA, BSPTA

Angela has a background in coaching and sports medicine. She completed her PTA degree at Carrington College in May of 2014. She went on to complete her bachelors in October of 2017. She has worked with us in a PRN capacity since 2016 and currently works most Fridays. She sees up to 6 patients a day.

Angela is an avid participator in BMX races and lives in Nampa with her boyfriend and 2 sons.

Jenny McKennett, PTA, LMT

Our newest hire is Jenny McKennett. She graduated from Carrington College with her PTA in May of 2017. Prior to that, she was a practicing massage therapist. Jenny was trained by our very own Ms. Leavitt prior to attending her first John F. Barnes workshop. Jenny took to the new technique immediately and is already earning a loyal following of clients. Jenny is currently working Mondays and Wednesdays and sees up to 6 patients a day.

Jenny lives in Boise with her boyfriend.
