New Patients

Welcome

Thank you for choosing our clinic to provide your care. As part of your treatment plan, your health care provider may have prescribed Myofascial Release (MFR) Therapy. Please review the following information prior to your first visit.

Treatment Time

A typical treatment session is 60 minutes long. However, on your first visit, you will need to complete some paperwork followed by an assessment. Therefore, please arrive early and plan on staying at least 90 minutes.

The paperwork usually takes between 15 and 30 minutes. At your convenience, we can email you the intake paperwork to save you some time once you are in the office. We cannot start your therapy without it.

Your therapist will then complete a thorough physical therapy assessment. This usually takes between 15 and 45 minutes. As the first session is usually scheduled for 90 minutes, the rest of the time will be used for your actual physical therapy. This usually involves a combination of manual therapy (including MFR), physical agents, and therapeutic exercises

What to Wear

MFR is a whole body manual therapy applied using non-gloved hands directly on the skin without the use of lotion or oils. Because of this the skin will need to be accessible as much as possible during the treatment session. Please do not put any lotion on your skin the day that you have a treatment as it makes it difficult to administer the myofascial release techniques.

Please bring articles of clothing to change into that will allow us full access to all necessary areas of skin. We suggest that female clients wear either a two piece bathing suit, or loose fitting gym shorts and a top that will unclasp in the back (such as a bra). Male clients should wear gym shorts only.

Scheduling

We reserve a full hour just for you and do not double book. We encourage you to make every effort to keep your appointment. If you know that you will be late, please call us to alert us and to prevent us from automatically cancelling your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be required to reschedule. If you are not able to attend a scheduled visit, please notify us immediately so that we can adjust our schedule accordingly. We would prefer 24 hours notice. In the event that you make a late cancellation (after 6 pm the previous day or any time on the day of service), we may charge you a late cancellation fee. If you fail to call us prior to your missed appointment, we will assess a no-show fee.
